February is Kindness Month and West Sechelt Elementary is starting the Random Acts of Kindness Project. We will recognize and celebrate students who are kind by documenting their “Acts of Kindness” on a sticky note and posting it on the Kindness Bulletin Board.

Kindness promotes empathy and compassion which can lead to a feeling of connection with people around us. Compassion and kindness are known to reduce stress, boost our immune systems, release feel-good chemicals, and can increase positive emotions. Kindness promotes gratitude and increases a sense of community and belonging. Acts of kindness make us and the people around us feel good!
